Diet
Eat foods containing natural oestrogen - chickpeas, soya products, lentils

Eat regular meals to keep regular blood sugar levels - a high level of blood insulin can disrupt ovulation.

Stimulating foods containing caffeine and alcohol stimulate the adrenal glands which then produce an excess of androgens, which are male hormones that can affect ovulation.

Chromium helps control blood sugar levels and regulates insulin

Zinc is essential for healthy thyroid gland, low thyroid can affect fertility and is necessary to use the reproductive hormones oestrogen and progesterone efficiently.

The herbal remedy Agnus castus has a hormone balancing effect and may be helpful.

Acupressure to help with irregular menstruation (Do NOT use when pregnant!)
Sp4 - Grandfather-Grandson - This point is on the inside of the foot, one thumb width behind the base of the big toe.  Find the bone in the arch of the foot, hook your finger into the arch from underneath, and press upward.  - Good for helping with irregular menstruation.

Sp6 - Three Yin Crossing - Four finger widths above the inner ankle bone along the back of the tibia. - Stimulates blood flow and initiates uterine contraction and menstruation.

St29 - Return - On the outer edge of the pubic bone, two thumb widths from the midline of the body.  - Regulates menstrual issues.

St36 - Three Mile Point - One thumb width out from the shinbone and one palm width below the patella.  - Stimulates energy flow to muscles and can cause uterine contractions.
CV6 - Lower Sea of Qi - Two/ three thumb widths below the belly button on the midline of the body.  - Helps irregular periods, sends qi out of the uterus.
LI4 - Union Valley - In the webbing where the index finger and the thumb meet.  If you close your finger and thumb, you’ll find it at the bottom of the crease.  You can pinch this point between index finger and thumb.  - Activates labour and stimulates the downward flow of energy

GB21 - Shoulder Well - In the top of the shoulder, half way between point of shoulder and the base of your neck.  - Can increase Qi and may cause uterine contractions.

Certain essential oils have the ability to assist in promoting menstruation (menses) and regulating the monthly discharge and are classified as emmenagogue oils.  These oils can be used in a diffuser or oil burner and include:

Aquamarine - is useful for sore throats, swollen glands and thyroid problems.  It harmonises the pituitary and the thyroid, regulating hormones and growth.
